Resident Inquire About The Old Train Depot
-- M. Rhodes
As a resident of Berkeley Springs I've noticed in community meetings and on social media many residents have asked the following question "Why we can't have the Welcome Center in the old train depot building instead of where it's at?" In answer to that question, here is what we found.
There is no “Welcome Center” listed in Berkeley Springs on the West Virginia Department of Tourism site (travel & recreation page) where all other Welcome Centers are mapped. There was also no address listed for a Welcome Center in Berkeley Springs on the site.
This prompted us to investigate why this would be as most of our residents are under the assumption that Travel Berkeley Springs LLC operates a “Welcome Center” in Berkeley Springs. We decided to find out more about who owns that center. This in turn required even further investigation of business interests in Morgan County. We think you will be surprised by some of what we found. An overview of businesses in Berkeley Springs Source links are provided at the end of these articles for all of the information listed.
