Intrigue In Berkeley Springs

An Overview Of Travel Berkeley Springs

Published:

As an administrator for My Berkeley Springs LLC and a "transplant" to the area, it didn't take long to notice that there seems to be some mystery and some would even call it paranoia surrounding the company known as Travel Berkeley Springs. Many rumors about the company and it's officers abound. Most people will give into intrigue when acronym's like "CIA" or "FBI" are used, as in the case of author Jeanne Mozier who certainly has her fair share of cynics for whatever reason(s). This article seeks to relate information about the company and it's business endeavors.

In 1990 Morgan County, Berkeley Springs Visitors Bureau Inc. changed it's name to Travel Berkeley Springs. The business charter for Travel Berkeley Springs states that it is an “Admin/Support Waste Mgt/Remediation Services, Administrative Support Services – Travel Arrangement and Reservation Services (travel, tour, convention & visitors bureaus)” business” It's officers are: Jeanne Mozier, Stephanie Rebant, Laura Smith, and Matt Omps. The West Virginia Department of Tourism site lists the Berkeley Springs Convention and Visitors's Bureau in Berkeley Springs on Fairfax and has the berkeleysprings (.com) website address. Note: While researching this article, the administrators of My Berkeley Springs discovered that the site TravelBerkeleySprings.com had not been purchased and did therefore purchase it although they have no business affiliation.

Travel Berkeley Springs' Officers

Jeanne Mozier has been the officer of 11 chartered businesses in West Virginia and has also done business under the name Edelweiss Cafe. Of the businesses that Jeanne Mozier serves as an officer, the following have been dissolved voluntarily: Coolfont Re+creation, Morgan Visitors Center, Mountain Run Farm. The George Washington Heritage Trail Association was revoked by the state for “failure to file annual report” and TJ's, A Premier was dissolved by “court order” according to The West Virginia Secretary of State's Office. Ms. Mozier also serves as a contact on a few of James Hoyt's websites as well as being the registrant of virtualcreativecommunity (.com) and museumoftheberkeleysprings (.com). Mr. Hoyt is the owner of The Morgan Messenger, Berkeley Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Cacapon Group websites.

Stephanie Rebant of Travel Berkeley Springs is also an officer of Gone Country Real Estate Services LLC.

Laura Smith of Travel Berkeley Springs is also an officer of Learning Tree Preschool LLC, Morgan County Partnership Inc; Stepping Stones To A Brighter Future Inc. and National Society Of The Colonial Dames of America In West Virginia Inc.

While Travel Berkeley Springs has promoted tourism, some Morgan County residents feel like they need an organization that not only promotes tourism but also business as a whole in Morgan County, given the few businesses that have managed to survive in this tough economy. Therefore, Travel Morgan County was formed on 9/2/15. Travel Morgan County is a non-profit organization that is chartered "Promoting local business, community activism and tourism in Morgan County, West Virginia.
